About us
Who we are
Ambitious about Autism is a UK based national charity for autistic children and young people. We exist to make the ordinary possible - championing the rights of young people with autism and creating opportunities for them to learn, thrive and achieve through our specialist education services like TreeHouse School, Ambitious College, The Rise School, The Spring School and St Johns College.
We are committed to our people—offering tailored training, clear pathways for career progression, and a supportive working environment to develop your expertise and impact.
Our vision is simple but powerful: a world where every autistic young person can be themselves and realise their ambitions.
Our mission? To stand with autistic children and young people, champion their rights, and create opportunities at every stage of their journey.
We’re proud to offer a wide range of roles across both our central charity services teams and our schools and colleges – from fundraising, communications, and operational support, to specialist teaching assistants, teachers and therapists in our schools and college campuses.
Our culture and values
At Ambitious about Autism, our culture is built on inclusion, compassion, and high expectations. We are united by a shared purpose: to create a world where autistic children and young people can be themselves and realise their ambitions.
We believe that everyone—staff, pupils, and young people—thrive in an environment where they feel seen, heard, and supported. That’s why we place strong emphasis on wellbeing, continuous learning, and working together with integrity and respect.
Our five core values guide everything we do:
-
We are ambitious – we set high expectations and strive for excellence in everything we do.
-
We value difference – we embrace individuality and champion diversity and inclusion.
-
We are open – we listen, learn, and communicate honestly and clearly.
-
We are team players – we collaborate, support one another, and celebrate shared success.
-
We are experts – we invest in learning, share knowledge, and seek to grow both individually and as an organisation.
These values shape our culture and define how we work – with each other, with the children and young people we support, and with our wider community.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
At Ambitious about Autism, we are fully committed to promoting fairness, equity, and inclusion across our workforce. We celebrate and value difference, and we actively work to ensure that our recruitment, policies, and day-to-day practices reflect our commitment to equality of opportunity. We warmly welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, disability, or age. All applications are considered solely on merit.
We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and robust safer recruitment practices, including online checks, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. This ensures a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all our staff and the young people we serve.
