About us
Who we are
Aspire is a community-led response to single homelessness in Redbridge. We work with individuals who are too often overlooked by traditional housing systems including people with no recourse to public funds (NRPF), care leavers, survivors of abuse, and those navigating mental health challenges. Our mission is simple: to ensure that everyone has access to safe, stable, and dignified housing regardless of their circumstances.
Our culture and values
At Aspire Skills Development CIC, our culture is grounded in compassion, dignity, and action. We are a community-led organisation committed to ending single homelessness in Redbridge and beyond—not just by responding to crisis, but by transforming the systems that allow homelessness to persist.
Our core values shape every interaction, partnership and programme we deliver:
- Inclusion – We centre those most often excluded from traditional housing systems, ensuring our services are accessible, respectful and culturally responsive.
- Dignity – We treat every individual with humanity and care, recognising that safe housing is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
- Empowerment – We support people to rebuild their lives with confidence, autonomy and purpose—beyond just a roof over their heads.
- Collaboration – We work hand-in-hand with local councils, community groups, and individuals with lived experience to co-create lasting solutions.
- Resilience – We champion strength through adversity, offering trauma-informed care and long-term support that fosters healing and independence.
- Hope – We believe in fresh starts, second chances and the power of community to restore lives and reimagine futures.
Our working culture is responsive, person-centred and rooted in trust. Whether we’re preventing homelessness, responding to crisis, or helping someone thrive, we do so with humility, professionalism and a relentless belief that everyone deserves a place to call home.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
At Aspire Skills Development CIC, we are committed to creating a working and service environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and fairness. Our mission to end single homelessness is rooted in the belief that housing is a human right—and that systemic barriers must be actively dismantled to achieve true equity.
We oppose all forms of discrimination, whether based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, gender identity, immigration status, or socio-economic background. We recognise that many of the individuals we support have experienced exclusion and marginalisation, and we are committed to ensuring that our workforce reflects and respects the diversity of the communities we serve.
Our approach includes:
- Inclusive recruitment and progression practices that ensure equal opportunity at every stage of employment
- Ongoing training in anti-discrimination, unconscious bias, and trauma-informed care for staff and volunteers
- Safe reporting mechanisms for concerns related to discrimination, harassment, or inequality
- Regular reviews of our policies and practices to ensure they remain relevant, effective and aligned with best practice
- Co-production with lived experience, ensuring that those most affected by inequality help shape our services and strategy
We believe that a diverse, inclusive, and empowered team is essential to delivering compassionate, effective support—and to building a future where everyone has a place to call home.
