About us

Who we are

The charity founders were inspired by a project they saw in New York which offered a holistic support to young people, giving them a one-stop shop where they can access wellbeing services.

Over the last few decades Base 51 has provided support to 11-24 year old through our groundbreaking programmes, including launching the first LGBTQIA+ youth group in Nottingham. Young people’s mental wellbeing has always been at the heart of everything we do.

Despite the challenges faced by Base 51, and other charities across the UK, we continue to be a trusted and safe space for young people in the county – giving them the vital life-changing support they need.

We focus on early intervention, providing counselling, specialist trauma support, a youth club, art therapy, a LGBTQIA+ group and other mental wellbeing services.
