About us
Who we are
BWCE is a not-for-profit community business with a radically different model to commercial energy companies. Using member investment, we build and operate renewable energy projects; solar farms, solar rooftop schemes on schools and community buildings (cutting fuel bills and carbon), with plans for wind turbines, in Bath and the surrounding area.
Our vision is for a fairer energy system. Our members and the local community have a say in how things happen. Members receive a fair return on their investment. Surplus income from sales of our energy is reinvested into the BWCE Fund which supports projects taking action on fuel poverty and carbon reduction. BWCE’s Home Energy offers expert advice to help people create cosier homes, cut down on fuel bills and reduce carbon emissions. We are exploring how local residents can buy cheaper greener electricity directly from our generating sites.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Bath and West Community Energy (BWCE), both as an employer and a provider of services, promotes equality and diversity and is committed to eliminating all forms of discrimination from our organisation.
Furthermore, we truly believe that every individual provides value and brings their own unique skills, attributes, knowledge, experience, and beliefs that enable both our organisation and the communities we operate in to thrive.
Encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace is not only good practice but makes good business sense.
