About us
Who we are
Bromley Borough Foodbank (the “Foodbank” or “we”) enables Bromley’s churches and individuals (together with schools, workplaces, and other groups in their local communities) to engage in our mission to demonstrate God’s love tangibly by providing relief from financial hardship to those in need within our community and by working to end the need for food banks.
Our culture and values
As a Christian-based organisation, our values reflect Jesus’ teaching and ministry:
· He loved everybody: so we help and seek to offer dignity and hope to everyone we can who is in need, whatever their background and beliefs.
· He valued everybody: so we judge nobody, but rather treat everyone and their opinions with courtesy and respect.
· He included people from all walks of life: so we try to include in our team everyone we can who has a contribution to make to our work, again whatever their background and beliefs, including people with social or learning difficulties, physical disabilities or mental health issues, victims of crime and ex-offenders.
· He embodied the truth: so we aim to treat each other, and everyone with whom we have dealings, with integrity and honesty.
· He placed great store on unity and humility: so we strive to work well together as a team (staff, volunteers and trustees), helping and bearing with each other and our clients cheerfully and with humility, gentleness and patience.
Of course these values are held by many people who are not Christians. We are delighted to have in the BBF team people of all faiths and none who share them.
