About us
Who we are
The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.
We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. Citizens Advice values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.
Citizens Advice Cardiff & Vale is a registered charity reliant on trained volunteers to provide these vital services to local communities.
Our culture and values
We are a learning organisation, committed to personal development and continuous improvement.
We will help people to help themselves by maintaining an organisation and structure of experts able to assist by:
- Operating professionally and ethically
- Being accessible
- Listening to each and every problem
- Not standing in judgement
- Using our experience to help choose possible ways forward
- Acting quickly to find the right person or organisation to help
- Using new and innovative ways of working alongside the old, we are committed to delivering advice and information across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Our commitment to this is strong and supported at every level of the organisation, which is why we work hard on our working environment. We have regular training, conversations, and action, supported by our brilliant in-house EDI team. The team works with all colleagues to improve allyship and find new ways to interrupt systems, norms, and practices that may contribute to inequality.
