About us
Who we are
Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team (CBMRT) is a voluntary emergency service charity that provides life-saving search and rescue support across the central Brecon Beacons and surrounding areas of South, Mid, and West Wales. Their operational area includes iconic and challenging landscapes such as Pen y Fan, Cribyn, Corn Du, the Ystradfellte waterfalls, and extends to urban areas like Cardiff, Newport, and the South Wales Valleys
Staffed entirely by trained volunteers, CBMRT responds to emergencies 24/7, 365 days a year—whether it's rescuing lost persons, injured walkers, or supporting the emergency services during severe weather and major incidents. Their work is funded entirely by donations and fundraising, making community support vital to their continued operation
