About us
Who we are
The Centre for the Children’s Workforce is a new national initiative dedicated to building the workforce children deserve. We want every child to be able to rely on coherent systems of care and support. Too often, children in England are let down by services that are well-intentioned but ultimately fragmented. Across education, care, health and youth provision, brilliant professionals are held back by systems that separate rather than connect their work, and the children who most need support are the ones who suffer. We think there is a huge opportunity to change that, moving from disconnected disciplines and services to an interconnected, interdisciplinary workforce that is more than the sum of its parts. Over the next decade, our ambition is to play a connecting role in and between those different parts, and to create the mechanisms by which they can come together meaningfully.
Our culture and values
Our values are:
- Care: We care about our work, each other, and the people we work with.
- Community: We believe lasting change starts in community.
- Courage: We want to do big things together.
- Credibility: We hold ourselves to a high standard.
- Curiosity: We are always learning.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented in higher education, leadership roles, or the children’s workforce, including people from Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, those from low-income or non-traditional educational backgrounds, and people with lived experience of the systems and services that support children and families. We believe that a wide range of perspectives and experiences strengthens our work and is essential to achieving our mission.
Accessibility and Adjustments: We are committed to making our recruitment and selection process as accessible as possible. If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know and we will work with you to adapt our processes.
