About us
Who we are
Who we help: Child Rescue Nepal protects and supports Nepal's most vulnerable children - particularly those who have been trafficked, exploited in child labour, or are at risk of abuse. We work with children trapped in factories, brick kilns, carpet weaving outfits, garages and as domestic slaves, as well as those in poverty or dangerous situations where they face exploitation.
How we help: We provide comprehensive support including safe accommodation, education, healthcare, counselling and life skills training. Our programmes focus on rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration - helping children heal from trauma while building the skills and confidence they need for independent, successful futures. We work directly with local partners in Nepal to ensure culturally appropriate, sustainable support.
Why our help matters: Every child we support represents a life transformed from exploitation to hope. Our intervention breaks cycles of child labor and trafficking, giving children not just immediate safety, but the tools to build secure, independent futures. In a country where political instability can leave the most vulnerable even more exposed, our consistent support serves as a vital lifeline - ensuring that regardless of external circumstances, these children have the protection, care and opportunities they deserve to thrive.
Our culture and values
Our values:
Brave: We fearlessly confront challenges and risks to protect vulnerable children.
Collaborative: We work in partnership with government, NGOs and communities to achieve shared goals.
Inclusive: We are committed to serving children from all backgrounds, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or social status. Accountable: We are transparent in our operations and are committed to ensuring that resources are used effectively and ethically.
Excellent: We strive for the highest standards in all aspects of our work, from programme delivery to staff development to donor care.
Our core beliefs:
We believe every child deserves protection, dignity and the chance to reach their full potential. We believe in the power of local partnerships and community-led solutions, recognising that sustainable change comes from within. We believe that with the right support, children who have experienced the worst exploitation can not only recover but thrive.
Our working practices:
We operate with rigorous safeguarding at the heart of everything we do. We prioritise trauma-informed approaches that put children's wellbeing first. We work through trusted local partners who understand the cultural context and have deep community connections. We maintain high standards of financial transparency and regularly evaluate our impact to ensure we're making the greatest difference possible. We foster a supportive, learning-orientated culture where staff and volunteers are empowered to deliver excellent outcomes for the children we serve.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Child Rescue Nepal is committed to creating an inclusive environment where all staff, volunteers, trustees and partners are valued and respected regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
Our approach:
We actively promote equality of opportunity in recruitment, ensuring our processes are fair and accessible to all qualified candidates. We provide equal access to training, development and progression opportunities for all team members. We foster a workplace culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed and different experiences are recognised as strengthening our ability to serve vulnerable children effectively.
Opposing discrimination:
We have zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment or victimisation in any form. All allegations are taken seriously and investigated promptly through our formal grievance procedures. We provide regular training to all staff and trustees on equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
Inclusive practices:
We regularly review our policies and practices to identify and address potential barriers to participation. We ensure our communications and materials are accessible and culturally sensitive. We actively seek diverse representation on our board of trustees and within our leadership team, recognising that diverse voices lead to better decision-making and more effective support for the children we serve.
We are committed to continuous improvement in this area and regularly monitor our progress against equality, diversity and inclusion objectives.
