About us
Who we are
Citizens Advice in East Dorset and Purbeck is an independent charity that provides free, confidential and impartial advice and support. Our goal is to help everyone find a way forward, whatever their problem. We have offices in Wareham and Wimborne and outreaches across East Dorset and Purbeck, including an Advice Bus and an Energy Bus that stops at rural locations. We are part of the Citizens Advice network in Dorset and across England and Wales.
Our culture and values
We are the people’s champion. We give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward. Our purpose is to help shape a society where people face far fewer problems. We achieve this through our twin aims; we are passionate about giving people the confidence they need to find a way forward by providing expert, high-quality advice and advocacy. We work together in tackling the root causes of poverty, hardship, unfairness and inequality through our research and campaigns activities. Through our twin aims we strive to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Our staff and volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and we particularly welcome applications from disabled people, people with physical, cognitive or mental health conditions, carers, LGBTQ+ and non-binary people, and people from the global majority. We are a disability confident employer.
