About us
Who we are
Arts in Health is currently a step-down service from the Community Mental Health Hubs, offering a programme of regular creative activities to support adults with lived experiences of mental health difficulties. We organise group visits to galleries and cultural institutions and facilitate in-person creative sessions. We provide participants with safe, nurturing spaces to explore creativity, socialise, and build confidence, with the aim of improving wellbeing and promoting independence.
The Arts in Health team are a warm and welcoming mixture of therapists, mental health practitioners and artists, supported by volunteers with an interest in mental health and the arts. As of September 2026 we are looking for volunteer travel buddies to support participants to attend our service. Please see our advert for full details.
Our culture and values
Run by a team of clinicians and artists, Arts in Health has successfully devised and delivered a wide range of innovative projects and programmes since 2010. This includes working with partnership organisations to co-produce short term artist-led projects, while continuing our longstanding programme of regular creative activities.
