About us

Who we are

Coach Core is a leading education and employment charity that improves the life-chances of under-represented young people across the UK, who experience barriers, discrimination and a lack of opportunities.

We help people aged 16-24 develop the skills, confidence and knowledge to unlock long-term employment opportunities through the power of sports apprenticeships.

Since 2012, we’ve enabled over 1,100 young people to find meaningful employment across 21 UK locations.

 

Our programme: We run targeted local programmes that identify communities in the most need of extra support, recruiting young people who are at the greatest risk of falling through the cracks.

 

We bring together committed employers and high‑quality training partners and place these young people into community sports-focused apprenticeships with local employers where they gain paid work experience, whilst providing mentoring, skills, and ongoing support.

The Result: Marginalised young people gain real careers; employers gain loyal, diverse talent; communities benefit from more sport and positive role models.

  • 77% of our apprentices complete their apprenticeship - 17% higher than the national completion rate
  • 80% have gone into sustained employment, further education or training
