About us
Who we are
An off shoot of a family philanthropic legacy with a principle benefactor behind us we are fincially robust and use the charitable resources available to us to work with expert front line organisations helping them to develop and test new housing based solutions to a range of different social injustices faced by their clients.
We support the development of pilot projects and use more of our funds to commission independent expert evaluation, capturing the learning and then sharing that learning as widely as possible to help others replicate what works and / or to avoid the mistakes from those pilots that didn't neccessarily work as orginally planned.
We have developed a highly successful and innovative social investment model leveraging up the resources we have to increase the scale and scope of the projects we can support.
Commonweal also deliver the independent Secretariat service to the London Housing Panel, a panel made up of 15 groups and organisations that want the diverse voices of different housing experiences in London to influence the Mayor’s policies. The Panel carries out its work in collaboration with the Greater London Authority (GLA), Trust For London and with community partners.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Commonweal Housing is committed to equal opportunities and values diversity in its workforce.
