About us

Who we are

Coventry Independent Advice Service is a charity offering free advice, information and support to Coventry residents.  We have been awarded the Advice Quality Standard, a nationally recognised quality mark for organisations providing free, independent advice to members of the public.

We are a charity registered in England and Wales (no. 1015216) and have a Trustee Board made up of voluntary representatives from across the city.  We are also a company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales (number 2761115).  Our debt advice services are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN: 628958).

Our culture and values

We believe everyone should have access to high-quality, independent advice when they need it most. We are committed to helping people overcome financial hardship, maximise their income and build greater stability and confidence for the future.

Our culture is supportive, collaborative and focused on learning. We encourage colleagues to share knowledge, develop their skills and contribute ideas that improve the services we provide. We value professionalism, compassion and integrity, and we are committed to delivering advice that is person-centred, empowering and responsive to the needs of our communities. We believe that the best outcomes are achieved when people work together, support one another and remain focused on making a positive difference to the lives of local people.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and fairness. We value diversity and recognise that different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives strengthen our charity and improve the services we provide.

We are committed to providing equality of opportunity in recruitment, employment, training and career development. We will not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any form. We actively seek to identify and remove barriers to participation and are committed to making reasonable adjustments wherever needed.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve. We expect all colleagues, volunteers and trustees to contribute to an inclusive culture in which everyone feels valued, respected and able to achieve their potential.
