About us
Who we are
Established in 2002, we are the leading sustainable development charity in Wales.
Our mission is to enable organisations and individuals to turn sustainable development aims into action through the provision of advice, training and connections.
Our culture and values
Our culture is based on providing the tools and support to help individuals quickly contribute to their team, and wider organisation and to help us deliver impact and income. Organised, motivated, team workers and quick learners thrive and develop in our organisation. Given the nature of a small and busy charity, often patience is required as we seek to implement agreed changes from our commitment to keep learning and improving.
We are a hybrid organisation with the expectation of at least 25% of our time in the office supporting colleagues, with the rest either at home or visiting clients or working from others offices. We have weekly and monthly all staff meetings, and quarterly all staff days in person to connect, reflect and plan together.
Our current values are persistent, professional, and respectful – which we seek to highlight good examples at our quartely all staff meetings.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Cynnal Cymru is committed to providing equal employment opportunity in all its employment programmes and decisions. We recognise that a diverse and inclusive movement is critical to solving climate change and other sustainability challenges, and that we must ensure that all those directly impacted – particularly those who have been excluded in the past – are at the centre of the movement for change.
We actively seek out training and advice that can make our staff positions accessible to all potential team members, regardless of race, colour, national origin, ethnicity, age, disability, assigned gender, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation or identity, religion or creed, veteran status, and marital or parental status. We strive to recruit team members from communities most impacted by climate change or impacted by other kinds of environmental, social, and economic injustice. We therefore strongly encourage applications from people from ethnic minority groups, LGBTQ people, and members of marginalised communities including those with a visible or hidden disability.
