About us
Who we are
We deliver moments of magic with lasting impact to children living in poverty who have a serious illness, disability, or life-limiting condition. We are the only wish-granting charity focused solely on children living in social deprivation in the UK.
Dreams Come True was founded in 1988, and we are proud to have been running for over thirty years. Thanks to our UK-wide dream-making programme of individual and community dreams, we improve and change the lives of very deserving children.
Millions of children in the UK are living in poverty whilst facing disability and life limiting conditions. It is our purpose to bring happiness and life changing experiences to these children – children who are some of the most deserving children in the UK today
Our culture and values
Children at the Heart
We put children at the centre of our mission and our daily working lives. Their dreams and needs guide our charity’s direction, and internally, we make sure everyone’s work is connected to the difference we make for children, fostering a shared sense of purpose in all we do.
Kindness and Respect
We treat every team member, child, family, and supporter with kindness, empathy, and dignity every day. By listening and understanding each other – inside and outside our charity - we ensure every voice is genuinely valued and contributes to our success.
Passion and Commitment
We bring energy, creativity, and determination to our work, supporting each other to go the extra mile. Our internal shared passion for our mission encourages us to achieve more together - helping every colleague thrive while delivering dreams that make a genuine difference for children.
Creating Joy Together
We create joy first and foremost for the children and families we support, delivering dreams and magical moments that truly matter. By celebrating our team achievements and supporting one another, we foster our own sense of pride, positivity and celebration
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Dreams Come True values equality and diversity, and welcomes applications from candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, gender identity, religion, or belief, marital or civil partnership status, political opinion, social or economic status or pregnancy and maternity.
