About us
Who we are
We are an independent charity that provides accommodation with support to single people experiencing homelessness, and drop in and floating support to County Durham residents with housing, health or wellbeing needs.
DASH has been making a positive intervention on single homelessness since 1972. We do this through the provision of Supported Housing through our Hospital Discharge Project, and our dispersed properties, a project specifically for vulnerable women facing multiple complex needs, supporting residents by providiing enhanced housing management services, delivering floating support services and drop-in advice sessions for County Durham residents and through the provision of affordable shared housing for homeless people and people in housing need.
We are able to accommodate people in a variety of properties on short to medium term agreements. Our aim is to provide a supportive and stable environment to give people the best chance of addressing the problems that caused their homelessness and give people the opportunity to move into independence.
Our culture and values
At DASH we believe that everyone, regardless of circumstances, should have a fundamental right to a place of shelter, and help to rebuild their life.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
As an inclusive employer and a local charity, we aim to reflect the communities we serve in order to drive the right employee, resident and charity outcomes. We encourage applications from candidates from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.
