Who we are

Emerge is a young people's charity working in Bradford to inspire positive change in the lives of young people. As part of this work we support other organisations to developand grow youth work which makes a difference, including helping them recruit great youth workers. Jobs advertised here may be with Emerge or with one of our partners.

We believe in young people

So we are committed to delivering inspiring, holistic youth work in community settings and local schools, aiming towards personal growth, better physical and mental wellbeing, positive engagement in education and to actively transform the communities young people live within.  We also use our experience and knowledge to support the development of vibrant youthwork in urban settings around our city.

We work to build positive relationships with all young people with a focus on reaching and engaging those who feel marginalised or isolated. Our goal is to enable all young people to become part of a community within which they can thrive, develop and reach their potential. We are motivated by our Christian faith and values to inspire, empower and build resilience in young people of all backgrounds, faiths and cultures.

There are many ways to work with young people, but we passionately believe in the journey.

No quick fixes, no false promises, but commitment shown through trusting and honest relationships. Our personal and collective calling is to have compassion for the young people we serve and our work is shaped by those in most need around us.

It is important that we work with many young people, but it’s not just a numbers game – we want to real change which can mean a focus on smaller numbers sometimes.
