About us
Who we are
We’ve been supporting people through change, challenge and crisis for over 150 years. We all have our own family stories. Some are tougher than others. But the story of today doesn’t have to be the story of tomorrow, for any of us. Together, we change lives.
Family Action is an inclusive and welcoming organisation and we’re happy you’ve chosen to consider the next step in your career with us. We’re proud to offer a huge range of frontline roles supporting children, young people and adults in families and communities across the UK. Equally vital are the support roles in our growing teams; Finance, People, Facilities, Business Development, External Engagement, Legal, and more. We offer support through key life stages and major changes, and from day one, all roles are open to flexible working requests.
If you’d like to find out more about what we offer and the difference you could make, then please visit the Family Action website. We look forward to hearing from you!
Our culture and values
Whichever role you are applying for at Family Action, all our teams are united in their passion to uphold our four core values: Can Do, Excellence, People Focus and Mutual Respect and we hope that these values resonate with you too.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
- Embracing Diversity: We welcome applications from all sections of the community. We know that greater diversity will lead to even greater results for families and children and strive for our workforce to be truly representative of the diverse communities we support.
- Staff Diversity Networks: We have a range of internal staff networks to facilitate connection between colleagues and to help drive necessary change to ensure Family Action continues to be a diverse and inclusive place of work. Our networks include the AccessAbility, Parents & Carers, Gender Equality, Anti-Racism & People of Colour, Faith at Work, and LGBTQIA+ networks. We also have a group for those experiencing perimenopause or menopause.
- Reasonable Adjustments: We proactively seek to understand any reasonable adjustments that may be required for candidates with a disability to ensure a fair and equitable recruitment process. Once appointed, we have an ongoing commitment to an inclusive employment experience, with many resources available to support employees with disability.
- Guaranteed Interview: Any candidate who declares a disability on their application and who meets the essential criteria for a role is guaranteed an interview, under the government’s Disability Confident scheme.
- Time-off for health care: Any employee with a disability or long-term health condition has a paid entitlement to four half days per annum for appointments relating to their condition.
