Who we are
The Free West Papua Campaign is a UK not-for profit organisation founded in 2003 by West Papuan independence leader Benny Wenda. The aim of the campaign is to represent the voice of the West Papuan people, and gain international support for their right to self-determination, with the end goal of an internationally supervised vote administered by the United Nations. The Free West Papua Campaign is a key international political group that work under the guidance of the democratically elected West Papuan leadership toward this aim. Our small group work with an international network of parliamentarians, lawyers, academics, human rights groups, activists, journalists, individuals and groups, all working together to build support for West Papua’s right to self-determination.
