Who we are
OUR AIMS
- To support people with learning disabilities to live their lives, in the way they choose.
- To enable people with a learning disability to discover their passions, connect with their communities and explore new ‘possibilities’.
- To enrich the lives of those we support and empower them to take control.
- To work together with people with a learning disability, autism and other disabilities to have better lives and connect to the community as equal citizens.
- To focus on people’s strengths, promoting independence and inclusion, through learning, work and leisure opportunities.
- To challenge stereotypes and always advocate for those with a learning disability.
How we deliver these aims
Our aims are achieved through a number of projects and a great team. We provide one to one support in the community and home through our community connections project. Our voices forum project works closely with those we support to hear how they how feel about the services they receive and any changes they would like to see. Our social Opportunites projects provides safe and fun opportunities for people to meet up and make new friends and access to work offers help and guidance in finding employment and any support needed whilst working.
Who benefits from our work
We provide support to adults and young people with learning disabilities and those on the autistic spectrum. The individuals we support are at the heart of the organisation. This benefits our service users, their friends and families, the local community and beyond. The work is very rewarding and we feel this benefits both staff and volunteers.
