About us
Who we are
About Glitch
We work to ensure internet technologies do not replicate or extend discrimination to Black women and other marginalised people.
We started our work squarely focused on online abuse, now our key area of focus is platform governance. We work on mitigating individual harms such as tech-facilitated gender-based violence. Our advocacy work also covers broader societal and collective harms such as algorithmic injustice and discrimination, by mitigating and organising for greater AI governance and accountability.
How we work
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure that internet technologies in the information ecosystem do not replicate or further discrimination to Black women and other merginalised people.
and Vision
We imagine a world where interet technologies and the information ecosystem are ethical, equitable and just - for Black women and gender-expansive people.
Our culture and values
Glitch imagines a world where internet technologies and the information ecosystem are
ethical, equitable and just — for Black women and Black gender-expansive people.
Accountable
We keep ourselves accountable to the team, our focal population, funders and partners. We do this by not avoiding difficult choices or conversations, ‘calling each other in’, and being care-full and thoughtful in our advocacy.
Black feminist
In anything we do, we consider the ways race, gender, class and other identity characteristics contribute to lived experiences of discrimination and oppression in society. We centre Black women and gender-expansive people, as well as their knowledge and wisdom in our advocacy.
Care-full
We take care of each other —leading with a caring mindset and behaviour in our work.
Radical
We are liberatory-minded. We’re comfortable with experimenting and operating from the margins.
Thoughtful
We are reflective and honest. We read widely, share generously, and always ask “why”.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
At Glitch, we are committed to providing equal opportunities for employment on our team. All applicants will receive equal treatment regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. We strongly encourage Black women and gender-expansive people to apply!
