Goals 4 Girls

Who we are

Goals 4 Girls is a UK charity dedicated to empowering girls and young women through football, mentoring and leadership development. We are one of only a handful of London-wide charitable football organisations dedicated to furthering the social, emotional and physical development of girls through the medium of football.  

Goals 4 Girls was founded by former Manchester City women’s semi-professional footballer, Francesca Brown in April 2011 after a conversation with a group of girls she was mentoring whilst working as a youth worker in East London. After over ten years of operating as a CIC, G4G became a charity in 2022 with a vision to engage many more girls. Our commitment is to continue to empower and support girls who lack opportunities from London’s most marginalised communities.   

We work with girls and young women from underserved communities who face intersectional barriers such as environmental, racial, economic & structural inequalities to participation in sport, confidence building and personal development. Through structured programmes delivered in schools and communities, we support girls to build resilience, improve wellbeing and develop leadership skills. 

Our programmes use football as a trusted entry point combined with mentoring, wellbeing support and access to positive role models. By creating safe, female-focused spaces and strong support networks, we help girls develop their confidence both on and off the pitch. 

As demand for our work grows, Goals 4 Girls is now entering an exciting stage of development by expanding our programmes, building partnerships with leading organisations in sport and the wider community, and increasing our impact.

Core focuses for us are: 

• Increasing young people’s physical wellbeing 

• Improving mental wellbeing at a time when many young people struggle with their mental health

• Growing peer relationships 

• Developing sustainable pathways to future education, careers and physical activity 

For many, Goals 4 Girls is the first place they feel confident playing football. The moment when a girl chooses to stay is where the future of the women’s game is shaped.
