About us
Who we are
Greenwich Music School is a charity providing high-quality music education for children and adults in South East London and online. Each week hundreds of students learn with our team of teachers across our venues and in partner schools.
Our work is built on two principles: quality and access. We aim to offer teaching of a high standard while making it available as widely as possible, regardless of background. Alongside private lessons, we run group courses, ensembles and projects, and provide financial support through our bursary and scholarship programmes.
We are a small organisation with a growing reach, working to build sustainable systems that allow more students to access music education over time.
Our culture and values
Our work is guided by four core values: creativity, positivity, quality and respect.
We are a small, collaborative team. We value people who take ownership of their work, think carefully about how things can be improved, and communicate clearly with colleagues and families.
Much of our work involves balancing day-to-day delivery with ongoing development. We aim to create an environment where people can make practical progress, even when systems are still evolving.
We care about doing things well, but we also value simplicity. We look for straightforward solutions that improve the experience for students, families and teachers.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Greenwich Music School is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, teachers and staff.
We aim to ensure that access to music education is not limited by background, income or circumstance. Our bursary and scholarship programmes support students who would otherwise be unable to access lessons.
We are committed to fair and transparent recruitment processes and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. We aim to ensure that all staff and students are treated with dignity and respect.
We recognise that inclusion is an ongoing process and continue to review our practices to improve access and participation across our work.
