About us
Who we are
Halton Haven Hospice provides care to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of patients with a life-shortening or terminal conditions; because of this some people think that a Hospice is a gloomy and quiet place but nothing could be further from the truth. Working at Halton Haven Hospice is like joining a big family. We’re a much-loved community asset and our supporters are behind us all the way.
The Hospice is based in a leafy suburb of Runcorn with good road, rail and canal links. Situated between Liverpool and Manchester with the iconic city of Chester as a neighbour it has a great deal to offer for individuals and families alike.
You’ll get a warm welcome from day 1 and an inclusive induction program will support you through your early days. Our Education Team will ensure that you’re kept up to date with learning and our Quality Assurance Team will update you with the latest policies and procedures.
Our culture and values
C – Compassion

A – Accountability
Our willingness to accept responsibility or to account for our actions, whilst ensuring that the Hospice’s best interest is at the heart of every decision that we make.
R – Respect
We value everyone, treating them well, and with dignity.
E – Empathy
Our ability to emotionally understand what other people feel, see things from their point of view, and imagine ourselves in their place.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Halton Haven Hospice is fully committed to the principles of equality and diversity.
The Hospice understands that equality is not about treating everyone the same; it is about ensuring that accessible opportunities are available to everyone, taking into account their differing needs and capabilities. Halton Haven therefore believes in providing equity of opportunity, in treating people fairly with respect and dignity and in valuing diversity both as a health service provider and as an employer.
