About us
Who we are
Health & Hope is a UK-registered international development charity working alongside vulnerable communities in and from Myanmar. Our mission is to restore hope, relieve suffering and support sustainable development through healthcare, education, livelihoods and humanitarian relief.
Following the military coup in 2021, communities across Myanmar continue to face conflict, displacement and increasing poverty. We work through trusted local partners to respond to urgent needs while supporting longer-term recovery and resilience.
Our approach is rooted in strong relationships with local communities, often in remote areas where few other organisations are present. We believe in strengthening local capacity and supporting communities to build a more hopeful and sustainable future.
Health & Hope was founded on Christian values and principles, which continue to inspire our commitment to compassion, dignity and service. We are a small and committed team, working closely with our local partners to bring lasting change.
Our culture and values
Health & Hope is a Christian organisation, motivated by our faith to serve others with compassion, dignity and respect. We welcome and support people of all backgrounds, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion or disability.
We seek to work with integrity and accountability, using resources responsibly and building relationships based on trust and transparency. We believe strongly in locally led development, working alongside communities and partners rather than doing things for them, strengthening local capacity and enabling people to shape their own future.
Our programmes are collaborative, community-informed and responsive to the challenging contexts in which our partners work.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Health & Hope UK is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to creating a working environment in which everyone is treated with dignity, fairness and respect. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and make employment decisions based on the skills, experience and qualities required for the role, without unlawful discrimination.
We are committed to providing reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process for candidates with disabilities and encourage applicants to let us know if there is anything we can do to support their participation.
