The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust prides itself on being an open, transparent and welcoming organisation. We seek to inspire by promoting the positive, encouraging good practice, and providing opportunity for anyone to get involved in conservation efforts. Our leaders are all open, welcoming and supportive, creating a fantastic work environment where people thrive.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust is fully committed to an inclusive culture that welcomes all people for who they are. We are an Equal Opportunities Employer. At all stages of recruitment and during employment we will pay attention to the need to treat every person with fairness and respect. We recognise that we need diverse people to work both in the organisation and in the community to protect our seas. HWDT supports the development of a working environment where there is space for people to be heard, and where people can be who they are, can have choice, and participate.
We have a number of policies that ensure people are treated fairly and support equality, diversity and inclusion in the charity. We offer flexibility to all our employees including working from home arrangements through our Hybrid Working Policy. We provide mental health support and guidance for our employees including a named Wellbeing Ambassador. We are fully committed to paying the real Living Wage Scotland to all our employees, including contractors and interns. The bottom of our pay scale reflects the real Living Wage Scotland and rate of pay adjustments are made annually in accordance with our organisational renumeration policy.
