About us

Who we are

Who We Are

HEEALS (Health, Education, Environment and Livelihood Society) is a grassroots, non-profit organization based in India, committed to creating healthier, more resilient, and sustainable communities. Established in 2010, HEEALS works at the intersection of public health, education, environmental sustainability, livelihoods, and community development to improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations.

Our mission is to empower individuals and communities through education, awareness, capacity building, and collaborative action. We work closely with local communities, schools, healthcare professionals, government agencies, universities, corporate partners, and international volunteers to design and implement practical solutions to social and environmental challenges.

Our programmes support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting:

  • Public health education and disease prevention

  • Environmental conservation and climate action

  • Women's empowerment and gender equality

  • Youth leadership and skills development

  • Quality education and community learning

  • Sustainable livelihoods and community resilience

  • Research, innovation, and social impact initiatives

HEEALS also hosts international volunteer and internship programmes, providing students and professionals from around the world with meaningful opportunities to gain practical experience while contributing to community-led development projects. Participants work alongside experienced mentors and local communities, developing valuable skills in public health, project management, research, communication, leadership, and intercultural collaboration.

At HEEALS, we believe that volunteering is more than service—it is a transformative learning experience that fosters compassion, leadership, and global citizenship. By bringing together people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, we create opportunities for mutual learning, sustainable development, and lasting social impact.

Together with our partners and volunteers, we are building healthier communities, protecting the environment, empowering future leaders, and creating positive change—one community at a time.
