About us
Who we are
We’re Hft, a national charity on a mission to change the lives of learning disabled people for the better.
Life can be complicated for everybody. Communicating and making your own choices. Relationships. Work. Money. Travel. Technology. But sometimes things are harder for learning disabled people, who can feel shut out of the society we all share. Let’s change that.
Proudly established in 1962, by a group of visionary parents, we’re creating a future where learning disabled people can live the best life possible. Providing personalised support. Creating solutions for living independently. Coming together to campaign for positive change. Fundraising for new opportunities and a bigger impact.
Your life. Your way.
Our culture and values
Hft’s culture and values are about treating people with respect, supporting independence, and creating opportunities for everyone to live a full and meaningful life.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Hft is committed to ensuring fairness and actively opposing discrimination across its workforce by creating an inclusive and respectful working environment for all employees.
The organisation promotes equality of opportunity in recruitment, training, and career progression. All employees are treated fairly regardless of characteristics such as age, disability, gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation.
