About us
Who we are
Histiocytosis UK
Histiocytosis UK merged with the Histiocytosis Research Trust in 2014 and became Histiocytosis UK known as Histio UK.
Histiocytosis UK now and in the future
Since the successful launch of Histio UK in September 2014, we have developed into a successful Research & Information Support network.
Increasing awareness among health professionals with a micro-website which has been integrated into HistioUK.org to help health professionals with diagnosis and treatment awareness of histiocytosis in children, young people and adults. Together with a micro-website for Parents Patients and supporters to access Information Support and make connections.
Our network of Clinical Champions in each of the medical centres around the UK are encouraging fellow health professionals regarding our partnership and support project HiHASC.
Histiocytosis UK has been liaising with cancer networks and other professional networks across the UK to engage them in helping to spread the important Histiocytosis UK message.
Histiocytosis UK is part of the international campaign for the promotion of awareness, research and medical knowledge globally.
Increasing awareness among the public
Histio UK uses its social media presence to communicate with all our charity stakeholders especially our Parents & Patients and our colleagues across the globe who share our vision of early diagnosis, treatment and a cure. No one should die of Histiocytosis.
Histiocytic associations have come together to learn about the the disorders and receive Histiocytosis UK materials as well as help spread the Histiocytosis UK message.
We are growing a network of volunteers around the country who are increasing awareness information to schools, GP surgeries and hospital waiting rooms.
With the increased publicity and spreading of the Histio UK message by word of mouth, the number of volunteers is growing. These volunteers are enthusiastic and passionate due to their personal, family or friends experience with histiocytosis.
Our culture and values
Histio UK beleives that No One Should Die of Histiocytosis
