Who we are

Hornimans Adventure Playground provides free play and activities time occupation for children aged 5 and 16 years. We attract a high number of children from the wards of Golborne and St Charles. We have a small eclectic staff team and are more like a very large family that celebrate free play. Hornimans aims: • Improve the quality of life for all children attending promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being. • Provide, maintain a safe, adventurous play environment staffed by qualified playworkers and volunteers who create a warm, welcoming environment that enhances the development of our children. • Provide a varied, fun, stimulating range of activities, off-site trips that meet the social, cultural, educational, recreational needs of the children. • Seek and value children's involvement and input and encourage them and their parents to take an active role in the running of the playground. • To raise people's awareness of the importance of play in children's • Promote equality, inclusion and project a positive image of children (e.g. those with disabilities, behavioural problems and ethnic minority groups) It is worth looking at our website and learning about us prior to applying.
