About us
Who we are
Inclusive North is a bold, mission-driven infrastructure organisation advancing racial equity across Lancashire and exists to reimagine power and possibility across Lancashire.
Rooted in community and driven by justice, we catalyse change, build lasting capacity, and resource racially minoritised leaders to shape the futures they deserve.
Our culture and values
At Inclusive North, our culture is rooted in justice, care, and collective power. We believe racial equity is not a side project—it is fundamental to how systems, organisations, and communities thrive.
We work with, not on, communities. Our practice is grounded in lived experience, relational trust, and shared accountability. We centre racially minoritised voices in decision-making and invest in leadership that reflects the communities we serve.
We challenge inequitable systems while building practical pathways for change. Collaboration is at the heart of our work; we value partnerships that are honest, values-aligned, and committed to long-term transformation rather than short-term fixes.
We prioritise wellbeing, sustainability, and learning, recognising that lasting change requires organisations and people who are resourced, reflective, and supported.
Above all, we believe in power shifted, not borrowed. Our work is driven by integrity, courage, and a deep commitment to a more just and inclusive Lancashire.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Inclusive North is committed to creating a fair, inclusive, and respectful working environment where everyone is valued and able to thrive. We actively oppose all forms of discrimination, harassment, and exclusion, and we work to dismantle structural inequalities within our organisation and across the systems we influence.
Our approach to equality, diversity, and inclusion is intentional and embedded in how we recruit, lead, and work together. We recognise that inequity is often systemic rather than individual, and we take responsibility for addressing power imbalances related to race, ethnicity, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief, socioeconomic background, and other protected characteristics.
We ensure fairness across the workforce by:
-
Using inclusive and transparent recruitment and progression practices, with a focus on reducing barriers for racially minoritised and underrepresented groups
-
Embedding inclusive practices into governance, decision-making, and organisational culture
-
Creating safe mechanisms to raise concerns, with zero tolerance for discrimination, bullying, or harassment
-
Regularly reviewing policies, pay, and working practices to identify and address inequities
We are committed to continuous learning and accountability. This includes regular reflection, data-informed review, and listening to lived experience to strengthen our practice over time.
Inclusive North believes that fairness is not achieved through neutrality, but through action. Our EDI policy is a living commitment to equity, dignity, and shared responsibility across our workforce.
