Who we are
Founded in 2020, Info Latinos has supported over 500 Latin Americans across the UK, working alongside more than 250 volunteer mentors who help individuals overcome language barriers, rebuild confidence and integrate into British society.
Info Latinos was created by Joanna Heywood and Yolaina Vargas to respond to an urgent need: providing culturally sensitive, bilingual support for newly arrived Latin Americans. What began as a response to personal experiences has grown into a community-led organisation that not only helps people navigate the challenges of migration, but also empowers them to thrive.
Through bilingual mentoring, community events and practical guidance, participants strengthen their English, access employment and education opportunities, and develop a genuine sense of belonging.
Behind every number is a real story, a mentee who becomes a mentor, someone who secures stable employment, or an individual who overcomes isolation to actively contribute to British society.
