About us
Who we are
Kairos Housing provides short-term shared accommodation and specialist support for asylum seekers and refugees in Blackburn with Darwen who are experiencing homelessness and destitution after receiving a decision—whether positive or negative—on their asylum claim.
We support individuals who have fled persecution in their home countries due to their race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership of a particular social group. Our guests are housed in fully furnished properties across Blackburn and Darwen, offering them a safe and stable place to rebuild their lives.
Our culture and values
Christ-centred – Our faith in Jesus Christ is at the heart of all we do. We serve with love, compassion and integrity, welcoming and supporting sanctuary seekers without discrimination.
Excellence – We strive for professionalism and integrity in all our work.
Empowering others – We equip and support our guests, volunteers, supporters and staff to discover meaning and purpose in their lives.
Restless for justice – We shine a light on injustice, especially where people seeking sanctuary are treated unfairly, and we fight for change.
Servant-hearted – We put the needs of others first, serving with humility within our organisation and beyond.
Generous – We offer a warm welcome to all, sharing hospitality, kindness and love, and treating everyone with dignity.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Kairos Housing is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do. We value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of who they are.
