Who we are

Since 2002, KidsCan has been working to transform children’s cancer journeys.

We believe in funding the research that could change the future of childhood cancer treatment, as well as being there for families living with childhood cancer through KidsCan Connect. 

We know survival is only the beginning. Every child who survives cancer deserves to grow up healthy, happy and free from the shadow of their treatment.

In recent years, KidsCan entered a new and exciting chapter.

North West Cancer Research, one of the region's most established cancer charities, stepped in to work alongside us, combining KidsCan's specialist focus on childhood cancer with North West Cancer Research's wider reach, resources and expertise.

This partnership means KidsCan is stronger than it has ever been and the work we can do together is greater than either of us could achieve alone.

Our culture and values

KidsCan’s work is based on its values and principles. It is essential that our commitment to children's wellbeing is supported and demonstrated by all members of staff, volunteers and other representatives.

Our principles:

• Listening and respect: we value the time and input of all of our staff and volunteers.
• Collaboration and Transparency: we communicate openly and considerately
• Creating a safe and inclusive environment: we respect and value everyone's differences, and work to make all staff feel supported and celebrated in the way that they need.
• Working actively to protect children: we by comply with KidsCan’s child protection policy and procedures.
• Protecting the safety and well-being of myself and others: we adhere to our code of conduct at all times

KidsCan promotes the charitable work connected with Cancer Research, and recognises that every person is an individual with different needs, preferences and abilities. 

We aim to reflect this diversity in everything we do, including making our services inclusive and accessible to all from all sections of the community, as well as the community at large and attracting and retaining a diverse workforce. 

KidsCan believes that harnessing different life experiences, attributes and contributions from staff, volunteers and service users makes us a more effective and inclusive organisation, and a better place to be.
