Ki’pe’peo Designs is a not-for-profit enterprise, selling handcrafted cards made by impoverished women in Kibera (Kenya), the largest informal settlement (or slum dwelling) in Africa. The project aims to empower women living in desperate conditions to be proactive in bringing about positive change in themselves, their families and communities.
Ki'pe'peo's cards are handcrafted from recycled materials by the women of Kibera, allowing them to support themselves and their families, and learn about money management and other life skills. Equally important are the friendships, self-worth and pride that come from being a part of Ki'pe'peo. There are not many opportunities to use your creativity as a force to transform lives. Working with Ki'pe'peo will give you that chance.
Ki'pe'peo is a small charity with a fun group of people. While this is a Christian charity project, you do not have to be Christian to work with us. This is a spiritual project because it shares your skill and creativity for the benefit of others. We have a variety of people from a variety of different faiths working for us and all are welcome. Ki’pe’peo seeks to break down walls and to bring people together for the common purpose of transforming lives.
