About us
Who we are
L’Arche Liverpool is a welcoming and vibrant community where people with and without learning disabilities live, work, and grow together. Part of the global L’Arche federation, we are committed to building spaces of belonging where every person is celebrated for their unique gifts. Our work includes supported living, creative workshops, therapeutic activities, and community engagement projects.
We offer more than just services — we foster genuine relationships, mutual care, and personal transformation. Whether you're joining as a volunteer, support worker, or team member, you become part of a community rooted in compassion, dignity, and shared humanity. L’Arche Liverpool supports adults with learning disabilities through person-centred care, shared housing, day activities, and inclusive events. Our team includes assistants, volunteers, core members (people with learning disabilities), and staff — all working together to build a meaningful life together. We provide holistic support that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit.
Our culture and values
We believe that everyone has a unique contribution to make, and that true inclusion starts with friendship, respect, and shared life. Our culture is deeply relational, focused on mutual support, reflection, and celebration. We strive to create a workplace where staff and volunteers feel valued, empowered, and inspired.
Our core values are:
-
Belonging: Everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and included
-
Growth: We support each other’s development — emotionally, spiritually, and professionally
-
Joy: We celebrate life together through creativity, relationships, and shared moments
-
Respect: We honour the dignity and individuality of every person
-
Community: We live and work side-by-side, breaking down barriers and building connection
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
