Who we are

Leeds Community Foundation is building a fairer Leeds for everyone. As the region’s leading independent funder, we unlock giving and invest in communities through grant making, collaboration and leadership. 

In an uncertain world, our city faces growing social, economic and climate pressures that mean grassroots community organisations have never been more vital. However, with demand for their support soaring and funding increasingly scarce, they’ve also never been at greater risk.  

We bring together people who want to invest in Leeds, working collectively to make our city fairer and drive sustainable social change. For over 20 years, we’ve helped donors invest more than £72 million to benefit communities across our city and the wider region. 

We’re a trusted partner to businesses, foundations and professional advisors, with years of practice delivering social value in Leeds. Our expert advice and experience managing strategic giving programmes with life-changing outcomes means we can make giving accessible to everyone.  

Our grant making is flexible and responsive, informed by our knowledge of local needs and our strong relationships with partners across the public and social sectors. Above all, we seek to enable and strengthen community organisations that are the backbone of our city, because when they thrive, so do our communities – and all of us benefit.
