About us
Who we are
Llamau’s mission is to end youth homelessness and homelessness for vulnerable women in Wales. We work across Wales to prevent homelessness, provide safe accommodation and we support people to leave homelessness behind for good. Llamau was founded 30 years ago and since then we have supported over 67,000 young people and vulnerable women who are either homeless or facing homelessness. Many people think that the job of a homelessness charity will be to provide accommodation; a safe place to stay, but it is very clear to us that for most people who are facing homelessness, their problems are far more complex than a lack of permanent shelter. That’s why we treat everyone who needs our support as an individual. We recognise their unique strengths and needs and support them to rebuild their own futures. We believe that every young person and vulnerable woman should be given the opportunity to fulfil their potential, to live independent and purposeful lives and that they should be supported to leave homelessness behind for good.
Llamau is a values-led organisation, which puts the people we support at the heart of the charity. We have a genuine respect for the people we support and we never give up on them, even where other organisations have.
