Love Rowing

Who we are

Love Rowing is British Rowing’s Charitable Foundation and was launched in December 2019. We work closely with the British Rowing team to achieve mutually beneficial ambitions.

Love Rowing exists to transform lives across the UK through the sport. We raise funds for programmes that engage and support young people experiencing poverty, disabled people and those from diverse communities.

To date, we have supported more than 100 projects and reached over 15,000 beneficiaries.

In 2025, we received significant new funding from The Westminster Foundation for our Rowing to Success project in Chester, supporting disadvantaged children, young people and adults. This marks an exciting new chapter as we look to grow our reach and impact over the next five years.

Our culture and values

Love Rowing is the charitable foundation of British Rowing, and our belief is simple: rowing can change lives, and everyone should have the chance to try it. We fund programmes that bring the sport to disabled people and to young people from deprived areas, and we work alongside clubs, schools and partners so that every project is built with the people it serves.

We are a small, friendly team with a big ambition, so we work in the open, share credit and pitch in where we are needed. Trustees are part of that. We value people who bring their own experience, speak candidly and enjoy helping others succeed. Our sign-off says it best: Changing lives. Together.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Rowing should be open to everyone, and so should the way we run our charity. We welcome applications from people of every background and are particularly keen to hear from groups who are under-represented on our Board, including people from ethnically diverse communities, disabled people and LGBTQ+ people.

We treat people fairly and do not tolerate discrimination in how we recruit, involve and support trustees, staff, volunteers and the people who take part in our projects.
