About us
Who we are
The Marsh Christian Trust (MCT) (publicly known as the Marsh Charitable Trust) is a small charitable trust which focuses its work on providing funding to help small organisations pay for various running costs, such as volunteer expenses, training days, equipment maintenance and other core outgoings. Our funding strategy is to provide long-term core funding, as we understand that many of the organisations we support depend on unrestricted income in order to meet their operating needs.
As a result of our work with numerous charities, we have seen first-hand how influential the volunteers and the people who work with charitable organisations can be. A consequence of this has been the creation of the Marsh Awards Scheme. The Awards are run in partnership with other charitable bodies to deliver recognition to the many people throughout the charity world who are making a difference and safeguarding the future of the causes they support. Recipients of Marsh Awards are a wide spectrum of people ranging from scientists working in conservation biology and ecology, to authors and sculptors from the arts world, those working with heritage, communities and young people as well as those affected by various social inequalities.
As the Trust is a small organisation, roles are really varied and involve communicating with and meeting lots of different people from various organisations, while there is the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of running a small charity. Employees also have the opportunity to attend charity events and award presentations while promoting the work of the Trust. The Trust is based in the offices of a Private Equity Company and therefore the office environment is fast paced and differs from day to day. There is a young team of professionals working in the office and a friendly atmosphere.
Our culture and values
The Trust was founded on the Christian principles of helping others and recognising the good that is happening in the world. However, we are not an exclusively Christian organisation and welcome applications for funding from all religions and none.
