About us
Who we are
MVA are an Voluntary and Community sector infrastructure organisation - we provide support to charities, social enterprises, voluntary/community groups and networks such as faith groups, all of which fall under the heading of the Third Sector. We also represent these groups - the CEO has a place on many boards and committees in the statutory sector and we routinely collect information from the sector so that we can represent organisations effectively. In addition, we deliver a range of projects designed to support communties and empower them to thrive, to address health inequalities and to support individuals such as demonstrated with our Befriending project. We operate mainly in Medway and Swale but we have also delivered innovative Lottery funded projects across Kent - these projects have received national recognition. We work closely with partners in the statutory sector and with higher education colleagues; we have close ties with local authorty officers and with Members in both Medway and Swale. MVA has grown substantially in the last 10 years with a reputation of delivering excellent practice.
