About us
Who we are
Founded in the early 1980s, Metanoia Institute was among the first organization in this country to offer humanistic and integrative professional counselling and psychotherapy training programmes. Since that time, the Institute has expanded substantially and now offers a wide range of academic programmes in close collaboration with the university system and with national and international professional accrediting bodies. Metanoia Institute is a registered charity and is non-profit making. All programmes are funded entirely from student and candidate fees. With over 1000 active members, we are one of the largest psychological therapy training institutions in the United Kingdom.
Our culture and values
Metanoia Institute is committed to the development of a fair and inclusive community. Our Values and behaviours set out the expectations of our community, both as individuals and as an institution. They facilitate an environment where voicing ideas and being heard are enabled through mutual respect, and students and staff can flourish regardless of background or circumstance.
We commit to sharing these values and behaviours with all new members of our community when they arrive to underpin our desire to truly live and breathe them.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
As an organisation founded with social justice at its core, we welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability. We believe that when we work together, we can enable change and make things happen, and we do this by encouraging all our colleagues to be their true self in the workplace. We learn from each other to create an inclusive organisation.
