Who we are
Background to Mosaic LGBT+ Young Persons’ Trust
Mosaic’s vision is to build a strong, cohesive LGBT+ community that is safe from abuse, free from prejudice, healthy and making a positive contribution to society.
Since 2000 we have supported, educated and inspired thousands of LGBT+ young persons and young adults.
Our 12 - 18 service is so busy we have to have two youth clubs a week to accomodate them all. In addition, we visit cultural events with our culture club, provide well-being support with yoga, drama therapy and counselling. We have a film club, a book club, a homework club and more. We provide work experience through our Mosaic Works program. We have regular party events like Homoween and Pride Prom. We have a couple of residentials each year.
Our 18 - 25 service provides a great opportunity to get together with other LGBT+ young adults and then arrange your own activities. Members have access to counselling and to occasisonal events for yound adults. They also have access to Mosaic Works helping them get valuable work experience as well as CV and interview support.
We are supported by a dedicated team of LGBT+ volunteer staff role models who run workshops and forums on a range of matters from sexual health to Queer literature.
