About us
Who we are
Not Beyond Redemption provides free family law advice and representation to mothers in prison to help them re-establish and maintain contact with their children during their sentence and upon release. The charity, made up of a team of family lawyers and volunteers from partner law firms, supports mothers in all twelve women’s prisons in England. They help mothers to understand their parental rights and navigate the legal system.
The charity was set up in 2020 by leading family lawyer, Camilla Baldwin, with the belief that legal assistance should be accessible to those who need it most, regardless of their financial circumstances. Women are rarely eligible for Legal Aid in private children’s law proceedings, and mothers in prison face many hurdles to represent themselves in the family court. Not Beyond Redemption fills the gap and ensures that this cohort have access to justice.
