About us

Who we are

Orchestra of Everything Foundation (OOEF) is a Bath charity delivering free, immersive music education to children aged 7–11 in some of the most deprived communities in the country. Around 270 children currently benefit across two primary schools in Twerton and Whiteway, with more schools planned. Our impact is off the scale: school leaders tell us that 86% of children show improved attitudes to learning across all subjects — better resilience, focus and confidence — and we have been instrumental in a 39% reduction in pupil suspensions.

We also run an evening youth club for older young people, in partnership with Youth Connect South West and with the backing of the Police Early Intervention Team. Our work has attracted the attention of the Department for Education, and Bath Spa University now incorporates our model into teacher training.

Our culture and values

We believe every child deserves access to music — not as a treat, but as a right. That belief shapes everything we do. Central to our approach is giving children the chance to struggle and fail in a safe, supportive space — and to learn to pick themselves up and try again. That process builds resilience and self-belief that carries far beyond music. We are ambitious about impact and relaxed about hierarchy.

We welcome people from all backgrounds and all levels of musical experience. What unites us is a conviction that music changes lives, and a commitment to proving it. All our sessions are delivered in teams of 5–10, so you will always be working alongside others — learning together and supporting each other, just as the children do.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

OOEF exists specifically to reach children who face the greatest barriers — around 70% of our beneficiaries are Pupil Premium eligible and 40% have SEND. We welcome volunteers of any age, background, ethnicity, ability or identity. DBS checks are arranged and funded by us.
