Paws & Pause

Who we are

Paws & Pause is a socially conscious doggy daycare centre. That means we combine expert-levels of dog care with a social mission; providing training opportunities to people in long-term unemployment due to mental illness and substance addiction. Our values are all about having fun and creating an inclusive space where everyone, dogs and people alike, are cared for and safe. 

Paws & Pause is a small social enterprise with currenly one site in Brixton and will be expanding into two new sites later this year. We're looking for proactive people to join our small team and help our organistion and social mission grow.

Our Trainee Programme #PressPlay is run from our daycare site and supports people to engage with dogs, pause and think about what their future could be like, before Pressing Play on all the possibilities to come!

We believe that the connection between dogs and humans is really powerful and can act
as a great motivator for engagement and change. Being around animals has been scientifically proven to help with people's mental health and for those who find communicating with others, building relationships and having self-worth difficult, our day care dogs could be the facilitator to change this.
