About us
Who we are
Pets are amazing.
They bring comfort, companionship and joy like nothing else. Without judgment or expectation, unconditionally.
Whether we’re struggling with confidence, feeling isolated, anxious or overwhelmed, or just having an off day, pets have a unique ability to give us exactly what we need – even when we don’t know it ourselves.
Imagine if we could bottle that magic and share it.
Well, that’s exactly what we do. We connect our incredible nationwide community of 5,500+ pet owners and their temperament-assessed dogs and cats with schools, care homes, hospitals and more to boost moods, build confidence, reduce anxiety and brighten days.
To share everyday moments of magic – a little joy without judgment – that not only brightens someone’s day but can shift their outlook in more lasting ways and help them feel happier and healthier, mentally and emotionally, long after the visit.
Pets improve our lives in ways nothing else can, no matter what challenges we’re facing. That’s why we’re here:
To help more people experience the everyday moments of magic pets bring.
Our culture and values
Our PAT values:
Passionate - We care deeply about the power of the human–animal bond, bringing warmth, energy and commitment to every visit, every volunteer and every wagging tail.
Inclusive - We welcome everyone who shares our belief in the joy that pets bring — celebrating diversity and ensuring PAT feels like a place where everyone belongs.
Ambitious - We aim high, growing our reach and impact while maintaining the highest standards of quality, care and professionalism in everything we do.
Joyful - We multiply joy wherever we go, from the gentle nudge of a nose to the laughter shared in a care home. We celebrate moments of happiness and always look for reasons to smile.
Collaborative - We work as one PAT community, volunteers, staff, trustees, partners and supporters, listening, learning and achieving more together through trust, respect and teamwork.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
As an employer, PAT is committed to creating an inclusive environment where individual differences are respected and valued. Discrimination, harassment, or victimisation will be treated as gross misconduct and may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal. This principle applies to volunteers, who are required to comply with the Equality Act.
As a service provider, PAT is committed to offering services regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, offending past, caring responsibilities, or social class.
When providing new services or policies, PAT will consider the equality impact on staff, volunteers and beneficiaries, ensuring potential impacts are mitigated.
