About us
Who we are
PROJECT MONO is a London-based, volunteer-powered youth collective. We strip back the red tape to deliver high-octane, short-term urban projects—from pop-up studios to street sports—completely free or low-cost. We aren't a youth club; we’re a youth movement.
OUR VISION
To redefine urban youth provision by making creativity and community engagement as accessible as a corner shop.
OUR MISSION
To provide young Londoners with high-impact, short-term opportunities that build skills, social capital, and confidence through an agile, volunteer-led model.
Our culture and values
OUR VALUES & OUR CULTURE
-
Radical Accessibility: If it’s not free or pocket-change, it’s not us.
-
Agility: We move fast. No six-month waiting lists.
-
High Contrast: Like our colours, our impact is clear. No gray areas in our commitment.
-
Culture Statement: "We are the scaffolding, not the cage. We provide the structure for young people to build their own noise."
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
PROJECT MONO: The Open Door Policy (EDI Statement)
1. Our Stance
At PROJECT MONO, our colours are black and white, but our community is a spectrum. We believe that urban youth work only works when it reflects the full, raw reality of London. We don’t just "tolerate" difference; we built this project because of it.
2. Radical Welcome
We provide a space where everyone is "good to go," regardless of:
-
Identity: Who you are, who you love, or the gender you identify with.
-
Background: Your postcode, your bank balance, or your past mistakes.
-
Belief: Your faith, your culture, or your perspective.
-
Ability: Whether your challenges are visible or invisible.
3. Our Commitment to Action
Inclusion isn't a poster on a wall; it’s how we run our "Drops." We commit to:
-
Accessibility: Choosing "pop-up" locations that are physically accessible and psychologically safe.
-
Affordability: Keeping our sessions free or low-cost so that financial status never dictates potential.
-
Representation: Ensuring our volunteers and guest creatives look and sound like the community we serve.
-
Zero Tolerance: Any form of hate speech, bullying, or discrimination is an immediate "exit" from the project. No debates.
4. Inclusion as a Culture
We recognise that London is one of the most diverse cities on earth. PROJECT MONO is committed to being a mirror of that diversity. If you feel there is a barrier stopping you from joining a MONO event, tell us. We’ll move the barrier.
"Different backgrounds. Different stories. One collective."
