About us
Who we are
We want to create a future where organisations, people and communities can thrive and rebalance their relationship with material resources.
Resource Futures is an organisation accelerating the shift towards a circular world: putting restorative practices of reuse, repair, recycling at the heart of the fight to address the climate crisis. We help organisations, governments and communities embracing circular, net positive solutions to reverse climate change, restore ecosystems, and tackle inequality.
We are non-profit-distributing and have a close-knit team of 50+ trusted employees who collaborate across various areas of the business. Our multi-disciplined and connected approach sets us apart from the competition and enables us to build robust solutions that have a meaningful impact in the world.
We are passionate not only about what we do but how we do it, and we’re proud to be a part of the global B Corp movement to use business as a force for good. Employee-owned and independent, we’re all about helping each team member grow, and together striving towards our goal of creating a sustainable world.
Our culture and values
With over 30-years knowledge and expertise of waste and resources, we want to change the way materials are used, reused and recycled.
We will achieve this by committing to five key principles:
1. Maximise impact and create value
Resource Futures is a certified B Corp, which means that we’re committed to using business as a force for good, in a way that not only brings about economic success but addresses our most challenging environmental problems and creates value for society. Read more about our impact.
2. Collaborate and innovate
We work with businesses, governments, local authorities, charities and communities to create the world we want to see: a world where finite resources are valued, used sustainably and to their fullest potential.
3. Work ethically and independently
Resource Futures is employee-owned and non-profit-distributing, meaning we always aim to do the right thing by our staff, our clients, and the planet. We are ‘mission-locked’ which means all surplus generated is reinvested to support our mission.
4. Invest in our people
People are at the heart of everything we do and everything we stand for, so we invest money, time and energy in our people to help them develop and thrive. We want all of our people to be proud of the work that they do.
5. Deliver trusted, quality outputs
Our work around the world encompasses a range of services from research and support for policy making to helping businesses adopt circular economy principles. Quality is our priority; our work provides trusted evidence and insight to inform and support key decisions.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Resource Futures is an equal opportunities employer, and we strive to create a working environment where everyone can make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment. We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us in being themselves at work.
We pride ourselves on working flexibly to enable our people to take care of their mental health and maintain a good life-work balance. We are Disability Confident and a Living Wage employer, and our hiring decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and business needs.
As part of this, we recruit and treat everyone with equality and respect regardless of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, marital or partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
In line with the expectations set out in our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy, we place an obligation upon all of our people to respect and act in accordance with this statement.
As a team we have made substantive and wide-reaching changes to our policies and procedures over the past few years. This includes introducing disability-related leave, training our people in disability awareness, and establishing Purple Passports to better support those with disabilities, health conditions and more.
In January 2024 we achieved Level Two Disability Confident Employer status, furthering our commitment to being an inclusive and disability confident employer.
